I started recording the first four songs of my CD on March 1, 2003 at Emerald Studio on Music Row. What an amazing experience. I was very excited and honored to work with the band members that were chosen for the project. Each one of these gentlemen are very accomplished musicians and have amazing backgrounds. Their experiences ranged from touring with Reba McEntire, Lynn Anderson, The Dave Matthews Band and Lee Greenwood to studio work for Tim McGraw.

I was able to share this experience with my family as well. David of course participated and was apart of every decision made. Colton received some lessons on the guitar from the band members and was also welcomed into the tracking sessions where he tried on the hat of producer. Averee decided to spend most of her time in the Emerald Studio Lounge where she was treated like a princess and had unlimited cartoons, cookies and soda (what more could a girl want?).

One of my favorite songs from the first round of recording is called “Beauty Of Us”. It is a very up beat song celebrating the good times of a relationship after surviving some of the more trying times.

“It’s gonna rain, let it pour,
you’re still mine and I’m still yours
and were not giving up!
That’s the Beauty Of Us”

March 19th 2004 was my 11th year anniversary with David. Believe me, we have made it through some rain. Like they say “April showers bring May flowers.” I hope you enjoy the message as well.
